Top Performers

A curated selection of funds that have been in the market for at least 3 years and consistently outperformed the 75th percentile return of their respective asset classes (e.g., debt, equity) and categories (e.g., large cap, mid cap) across all time horizons.

Top Performing Funds Methodology for Mutual Fund Analysis

Our approach to identifying top-performing funds is grounded in a data-driven and transparent methodology designed to assess performance consistency across different time horizons. Here's how we do it.

1. Calculating Rolling Returns

We start by calculating rolling returns for each fund across 1, 3, 5, 7, and 10-year horizons. This provides a comprehensive view of fund performance over varying timeframes.

2. Determining the Mean Rolling Return

For each fund and time horizon, we calculate the mean rolling return. This step highlights the average performance of a fund over the specified periods.

3. Comparing Returns by Asset Class and Category

Using the mean rolling return data, we classify funds by their respective asset classes and categories. This helps create a distribution of mean rolling returns for each group.

4. Identifying Top Performers

To qualify as a top-performing fund, the fund's mean return must be equal to or higher than the 75th percentile (upper quartile) of returns within its asset class and category, across all time horizons. Funds lacking 3-year rolling return data are excluded.

5. Creating the Lists

We generate two lists: funds achieving the 75th percentile or higher in their asset class, and those achieving the same in their asset category.

6. Finalizing the Top Performers

Funds that meet the criteria in both asset class and category lists are highlighted as Top Performers.

Insights and Disclaimer

While past returns do not guarantee future performance, this evaluation emphasizes consistency and reflects the capability of the fund management team to deliver results over time. Use this as a credible starting point for deeper analysis.
